For those who don’t know MIUI is a customized version of android developed originally by some chinese developers for china market.It was initially available only for some handful devices including HTC Desire,but since then it has been ported to many devices with English translated versions.Now MIUI Rom is available for devices which include HTC Desire HD, Motorola Droid, HTC HD2, HTC DesireZ, Samsung Galaxy S.MIUI Rom comes both in foryo (2.2) and gingerbread (2.3.3) flavors.
MIUI Rom is updated on a weekly basis and this is what makes it even more better.Below are some of the features of the amazing rom covered in brief :
Beautiful Interface
If you are unhappy with the current android interface,then this rom is a dream come true for you.Its interface is more close to that of IOS.The Rom has no app drawer,but you will have tons of homescreens to swipe through.The notification dropdown is divided into two parts,one for the notification and the other one for toggles.The toggles section lets you change many settings very easily and quickly (If you have used phoenix rom by andy572 then you may noticed a similar dropdown screen).You can even reboot or shut down your phone right from this menu. And, of course, the ROM has a great themes manager that lets you download and try out different themes for the custom UI.
Speed
Though this android rom may not be as speedy as IOS,but is definitely better atleast in terms of speed then the original android roms.I have personally used this Rom on my friends Samsung Galaxy S I9000,and boy its really fast to me.
Themes
MIUI Rom comes with a theme manager and it has the most powerful theming engine that I personally haven’t seen in any rom till date.You can have customized lockscreens,status bar,text icons,bootanimations and what not !!You can download many themes online and then just change the way your interface looks.
Music Player
The MIUI rom music player has got many inbuilt options that you don’t have in stock android music player and thus end up in installing a serparate app for those extra features like shake to change music,sleep timer,equalizer.The Music Player even has a feature to show in-time lyrics,which you may not find in stock music player.
MIUI music player is available on internet as a separate app,and this just shows its popularity.
