Google may launch Android Jelly Bean 5.0 in Q2

Google probably is going to launch android jelly bean 5.0 in Q2  2012.The news comes from digitimes,a taiwanese publications which is citing supply chain makers.According to the news, google’s expectations with android 4.0 have fallen short, with only galaxy nexus and a few other devices getting the official ICS 4.0 update.

Android 4.0 was launched 8-9 months back and if jelly bean 5.0 is launched in Q2,then google is in no-way going to see the adoption of ice cream sandwich by majority of devices before jelly bean release. We think that google is planning the launch of android 5.0 before the launch of windows 8 and also google may ask vendors to supply notebooks/netbooks with a dual-boot to run android 5.0 alongside windows 8.

We are a bit skeptical about the news, but digitimes in the past has been quite accurate with such rumors, still if we see the trend then we can see that majority of smartphones and tablets will be able to run on ICS 4.0 by the end of 2012.And with Jelly bean to come in Q2,ICS will be put aside.Or google may want to target Jelly bean for netbook and notebook, then probably we will see the launch of android 5.0 in Q2,2012 at google’s I/O in june.
