With just a few days left for mobile world congress to kick-off,manufacturers have started to announce their to be showcased gadgets at the event.LG previously announced optimus Vu and today it has announced Optimus tag,an LTE smartphone with tag+ and NFC support.

Optimus Tag is a variant of optimus LTE,but this smartphone includes support for tag+ (similar to sony’s smart tags) and also NFC.The LTE smartphone is to be announced alongside Optimus Vu,LG X3 and optimus 3D 2 at MWC barcelona.

The new tag+ feature allows to communicate with the device with NFC through special stickers/tags and this can be used to change the phones settings at certain locations.So that means a tag on the car dashboard can be used to turn on/off bluetooth and wifi,send text messages right from there and the possibilities are endless.

“Our goal is to offer the widest variety of LTE smartphones in the industry in 2012,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “The Optimus LTE Tag isn’t just a cosmetically-enhanced version of Optimus LTE, it offers a truly innovative feature which we think really makes a smartphone smarter.”

Specificatons of optimus LTE tag include,
  • Android 2.3,upgradable to ICS 4.0 in future.
  • 1.2 GHZ dual-core processor.
  • 4.3″ IPS display with 800 X 480 resolution.
  • 5MP rear camera with AF LED flash plus a 1.3MP front camera.
  • 16 GB internal storage
  • 1,700mAh battery
  • Support for LTE network,tag+,NFC,MHL(Mobile High Definition Link),DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance).
