Best SEO Practice and 3 Best SEO plugins for WordPress Blogs
Gone are those days when a newly started website/blog could reach millions of people in just a few seconds.Today,we see a number of new and fresh sites created daily and appearing in search engines.I have been blogging since an year now and i have to admit that Google is the search engine through which i get most of the traffic and bing and yahoo both come in the second and third positions respectively.
When it comes to search engines then Search Engine Optimization or in short form SEO is one of the most important factors which help a page rank better and appear on so called the first page of Google from where you can get thousands and thousands of daily hits. Also after the recent Google Penguin Algorithm change the right amount of on-page optimization has become more important.
Before going further i want to remind you that according to Google’s quality guidelines for sites “SEO” is important for any site. Also don’t ever try to over optimize your WordPress blog as Google’s new algorithm considers that as bad and would rank your blog posts really down the lane.By over optimizing we mean to not to stuff keywords or to repeat a particular keyword again and again at many places in the post or in other words have an increased keyword density.
Below are the three SEO plugins which is trusted by many people who run their blogs on WordPress.I have personally tried all the three plugins, all the plugins are good and will make your job of on-page optimization more easy.
WordPress SEO by Yoast
This plugin is developed by joostdevalk who has been developing some really useful SEO plugins for WordPress.Currently, all of our blogs are using this plugin and its features won’t disappoint you.
This SEO plugin has numerous features.Setting up of titles, permalink, sitemap and robots.txt is very easy as every option is accessible right from the WordPress Dashboard. In the Post Editor you have the option of including SEO title,SEO description and even meta keywords. You can also include a focus keyword or the keyword which you are targeting to rank and after you save your post as draft the plugin will show the related analysis which include keyword density, ease of reading test, number of words in posts as well as the number of outbound links.
This plugin is not recommended for beginners as in the starting it can be a little confusing. However,if you want to have some real benefits in the long term, then you should install this plugin right away.
The most important feature of this plugin is that it can can import your SEO settings from previous posts. If you have previously used All In One SEO Plugin then you can easily import the settings from it.
All In One SEO Pack
This Plugin has been developed by hallsofmont ezuma and is also counted among popular WordPress SEO Plugins. Before WordPress SEO i was using All In One SEO Pack. This plugin is great for beginners as it will basically work out-of-box once installed. It will automatically optimize your WordPress blog by generating meta tag.
Even Advanced Bloggers can use the plugin as it gives you the power to add custom post titles, descriptions, URL structures and tags for each post.
This is the plugin which I have recently used and the User Interface and outcome has been remarkably good.Again the plugin works out-of-the box much similar to All In One SEO,trying to optimize your blogs automatically by generating meta tags and page titles.
SEO Ultimate has a separate feature named as Canonicalizer which help you to guide the search engine robots to right post/page which is having same content but different URL’s.It basically helps you in adding the “rel=canonical” attribute to such posts/pages.You can have this feature in WordPress SEO Plugin as well.
The most important feature of WordPress SEO by Yoast and SEO Ultimate is that they can can import your SEO settings from previous posts. If you have previously used All In One SEO Plugin then you can easily import the settings from it without loosing any on-page optimizations.
From my experience,I will personally suggest you in using the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin as it many features that some of the Pro SEO plugins out there have and also its helps you in optimizing your posts/pages in a more better way with a detailed analysis.
