Review : A closer look at HCL’s 3G ME Tablet Y2
Yesterday,HCL has launched Android Ice cream sandwich 3G Tablet Me Y2.The tablet is priced at 14,999/- INR.Surprisingly Tablet Me Y2 and Google’s Nexus tablet have similar specifications but there is difference in the prices.Although,owing to the fact that even when google nexus arrives in the indian market it will priced somewhere around 15K,the price of HCL Me Y2 is reasonable.
Today,we are going to have a more closer look at the tablet and its specifications (features).Follow us through this short review of HCL 3G Tablet Me Y2 by our experts.
Hardware : HCL ME tablet Y2 is powered by 1GHZ cortex A9 processor.This ME tablet runs on Android Ice cream sandwich v4.0.3,has a 7.0-inch WSVGA IPS panel (screen) with 1024x600p resolution,1GB RAM,8GB internal memory with microSD card slot.HCL ME tablet Y2 features a rear as well as a front camera.
On the connectivity front ME Y2 has wifi,bluetooth and inbuilt sim card for 3G connectivity.HCL Me tablet Y2 has a 400mAh battery.
Our critic : ME tablet Y2 is priced at 15 K and the hardware seems to be just too good for this price.The tablet gets a 4.5/5 for hardware.
Software :
HCL ME tablet Y2 runs on ice cream sandwich 4.0.3,which is precursor to jelly bean 4.1,also the though the company has not given any official wording on jelly bean update for this ME tablet,one can expect an update as the tablet features would be able to run jelly bean OS without any problem.
The tablet comes pre-loaded with apps like Twitter,LinkedIn, Digital Weather Clock, Games, Sweet’ N ‘Spicy, iBrowser, Bollywood, Hungama and Saavn.More apps can be downloaded from ME App Store.
Our critic : ME tablet Y2 runs on Ice cream sandwich which is yet to come to even some of the high end tablets currently present in the market.As a result we give 5/5 to ME tablet Y2 for software category.
Camera :
HCL ME tablet Y2 has a 2MP rear shooter and a 0.3 MP front shooter.
Our critic : Very few people prefer camera in tablets,but we think that HCL could have given a 3.2 MP rear shooter to the tablet for taking reasonably good pictures.For this category tablet Y2 gets a 3.5/5.
Graphics and connectivity :
HCL ME tablet Y2 has integrated graphics Mali 400 Multimedia Processing chipset and a micro HDMI port for HDMI connectivity.Wifi and bluetooth connectivity plus 3G connectivity. (HSPDA)
Our critic : For connectivity,we give the tablet 5/5 as all the basic connectivity options – wifi , bluetooth and even 3G connectivity is present in the tablet.

Hi…I am looking forward to buy this tablet…But I will wait until a root tool is available …Is Android market or playstore supported on this Tab.

Play store is not supported in HCL ME tabs ,HCL has its own ME app store,but there should be a workaround i suppose.
I will research and let you know,when i find a solution to this

poor rating by you..worst tablet it is…please dont buy this tablet..frm the very next day it is not working…heating up and booting problem is thre in 1000 of tablets…search on net abt this problem..boot problem in y2…useless..m frustated
